CO-OP PROGRAM

Being part of the student Co-Op experience at Eastern Construction is all about hands-on learning, access to mentors, and working with an active project team in the field. 

Student Co-Op placements are offered in Project Coordination, Field Engineering, Estimating and BIM and are typically available in four-month increments in January, May, and September. 

Students enrolled in a full-time program at a college or university are welcome to submit their resume for consideration along with a cover letter to hr@easternconstruction.com.

CO-OP PROJECT ENGINEER

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Superintendent, provides specific services such as; lines, levels, surveys, monitoring requirements, quantity take-offs and material ordering.  Assists Superintendent to plan, coordinate and supervise construction activities.  Assists in ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Programs as well as, legislative requirements.  Also ensures the work is in compliance with all the design drawings, specifications, codes and standards.  Maintains and updates on site as-built drawings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Site Surveying:  Ability to accurately provide baselines and levels specific to the project requirements.
  1. Estimating:  Ability to determine the correct requirements for the material and accurately quantify and order materials to comply with the specifications.
  1. Recording Keeping & Reporting: Knowledgeable about and implements Eastern policies and procedures. Quality Assurance and Safety reporting.  Timely and accurate completion of concrete reporting, progress charting, RFI's, site photos, and safety reporting requirements.  Assist as required, the Superintendent with Field Orders, PMO’s, timesheets, Superintendent Reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be enrolled full-time in university or college program in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
