80 Atlantic Avenue is slated to be the first heavy timber commercial building constructed in Ontario in nearly a century.  Hullmark Developments and Quadrangle Architects selected a traditional, yet unusual, material for the structure of the building to differentiate it from the myriad of concrete/steel offices being built in the immediate area, hoping to attract unique tenants to this post-and-beam office complex in Liberty Village. Utilizing cross laminated timber construction and stone, 80 Atlantic will reflect the character of the surrounding architectural heritage and commercial redevelopment.

Having rejuvenated the adjacent property, 60 Atlantic, Hullmark continues its efforts with the construction of a new five-storey office building at the 80 Atlantic Avenue, a parking lot.  The project includes both commercial office and retail components.  Eastern will work with a zero-lot-line in a historically significant part of Liberty Village taking into account the surrounding adjacencies, demonstrating sensitivity towards the ongoing operations of 60 Atlantic, developing project phasing to accommodate food and beverage operations in the communal courtyard of 60 Atlantic, immediately adjacent construction activities.
