An existing historic building was built for The Theatre Centre, a nationally recognized arts incubator, who provides space, subsidy and mentorship to new generations of arts leaders.  This is their biggest production yet, converting the historic Carnegie Library, at the corner of Queen Street West and Lisgar Street, into a theatrical arts centre, complete with a rehearsal hall, meeting rooms and offices, workshops, a new lobby, roof top terrace and a main performance hall.  An addition was added at the back of the building, which included the café and entrance lobby into The Theatre Centre.  The project was designed by GBCA Architects, who had been entrusted to maintain the building’s Edwardian façades, as well as, “transform the interior into a unique live arts facility, and restore the building to its original function as a place of public use and cultural significance.”
